We are having an extended summer with temperatures higher than usual, which I find quite nice. It won’t be too long before I’m bitchin about the rain and cold, so I’ll take as much sun and warm as they want to send me.
With this nice weather we continue having as many meals as possible outside. [...]

We have this great neighbor who lives across the street, she has become a very good friend. She was there with us the first time we sat on the roof to watch the fireworks. She has been a cat and house sitter for us in the past. We tease her when she goes out to ride her bike. [...]

Aren’t they precious? My two birthday girls. Yesterday was a magical day, we celebrated two birthdays at our house. They were both 19 years old, which is old for a cat and young for a woman. They love each other and it shows doesn’t it?
I acquired the little grey one 19 summers ago by way of Yakima [...]

Friday was the nicest day of the year, so far. That called for an early dinner of take out fish and chips. Where did we take them? Well the Ballard locks of course. It was a sunny gorgeous warm late afternoon and the spring time was teasing us, no, begging us to come out to [...]

When Sweet Husband had his 50th birthday we had a Hawaiian Theme party. Everyone dressed up and we had pupu’s and mai tais all while listening to Hawaiian music in the background. It was also sort of a surprise party, where the guest of honor knew we were having a party, but he didn’t have [...]

Over the course of my life I have encountered many things. Some pleasant, some not. Lately, I have been inflicted with Grandma Whiskers. (I’m placing that in the unpleasant category.) Ladies, you know what I mean. Those 4 or 5 wiley spikes that self germinate on the tip of ones chin. I’m usually pretty good about [...]

Tonight after a hard day of working in and around the house, I opted to make dinner. Sweet Husband is usually the head cook and I’m a good helper and great eater. But I was feeling in a food mood so I baked a couple of fresh from our garden rhubarb pies and [...]

A few weeks ago I was informed on my Birthday that there would be ’something else’ later in the month. The month being March, the later being the 31st. I had no idea what we were up to, but it was suggested that I dress up a little and that we would be first going [...]

I love this photo! You won’t find it anywhere but here on this blog. Doesn’t it look like one of those greeting cards with the goofy sayings inside? I generally would be the first smart ass to make a comment, but I can’t this time. I am simply overwhelmed by the [...]

I don’t recall how long we had been going out when one day we were standing in the kitchen of my house. I do recall that we were standing very close to one another when I heard this very earnest voice in my ear. “Would you consider marrying me?”This is my answer, in spite of [...]
